Original member of The Royal Montreal Regiment.

The unit was attached to the Regina Rifle Regiment.

Killed in action at the Leopold canal. Being wounded by a bullet to the arm Thornicroft was patched up by Captain Schwob and after that ordered to secure himself behind the lines. On his way back he came encounter with a German soldier. The wounded and unarmed Canadian stoot no change and was shot dead.

2 Brothers in the Military. Howard Edwin served with the RCAF overseas C/19120 and Edward George V/7625 served with the Royal Canadian Navy.
