Wounded on September 19th, 1944. Jeep stroke a land mine. Compound fracture of left tibia and fibula. Severe shell fragment wound right elbow joint.
The 12th Manitoba Dragoons (18th Armoured Car Regiment) war diary reports on September 19, 1944: At 1715 hrs report was received that a Jeep carrying Capt J.H. Morris ran over a mine on a road that has been used continuously the last few days. Capt Morris is badly injured but the driver escaped uninjured.
