Wounded on July 8, 1944 as Lance Corporal with the North Shore Regiment in Capriquet, France (just East of Cean).

Back to France on September 6, 1944.

Re-assigned to the North Shore Regiment on September 19, 1944.

Killed in action when the Bren Carrier he was driving hit a mine. Very likely in company of W.E. Jones and J.A. Montgomery. (This was also written in Dutch on the back of the temporary burial photograph).
