Hampden AD 726 KM was on a mission to Koln, Germany. The aircraft was hit from costal guns in the region of De Haan, Belgium and crashed into the North Sea. Two bodies washed up on the coast. Sgt. TAYLOR (R.C.A.F.) was buried in Klemskerke, Belgium churchyard and Sgt. Richard Kellett HAYES 1001204 (R.A.F.V.R.) was buried in East-Dunkirk Communal Cemetery, France. Sgt. Stafford Arthur HARVEY (R.A.F.) 778343 and Flt. Sgt. John Ernest PHILLIPS 617380 (R.A.F.) are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial panel 44 and panel 37, U.K.
