According to a news clipping killed in action by enemy machine gun fire along the Leopold Canal in the area of Watervliet, Belgium.

According to research by Robert Catsburg it was a hand-grenade attack. Wounded and screaming for help from a small shed Reibeling died from his injuries. Pte A. Bridge was unable to help. The scene traumatised Bridge and he was taken off the front line.

Headstone reads date of death October 15, 1944. It suppose to be October 14, 1944. CWGC has been informed.
