A group of 6 allied fighters were on a mission to attack railway targets in the Diksmuide, Belgium region. Coming from France a cargo train with military supplies came in view in the region of Tielt, Belgium. Leader of the formation Flight Lieutenant Bryan D.F.C. making his bomb run and noticed machine gun fire from each truck. Flying Officer Rebbetoy made his launch and the Whirlwind P7058 SF-G was shot down and crashed at Wijnendale-Stationstraat.
Two German Officers made a salute to the Canadian pilot.
