From September 8, 1943 until November 20, 1943 served with the New Brunswick Rangers.

Assigned to the North Shore Regiment on March 16, 1944.

To be Lance Corporal on July 5, 1944.

To be A/Corporal on September 25, 1944.

The North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment war diary reports on October 12, 1944:
Terneuzen-Gent MR 188147 (Scheldedijk, Biervliet, Netherlands).
Weather: Clear and cool. Visibility fair.

At 0735 hrs, the balance of "F" Each. Vehicles were ordered to move across and join Tactical H.Q.
Companies moved up and "A" Coy on the right had some stiff fighting on the dykes. They were counter-attacked, but managed to beat off the attack. Lt. M.F. Quinn was killed and Major F.F. Moar, Commanding Officer. of "A" Coy was wounded and evacuated. Captain J.A. Woodcock took over "A" Coy. Other casualties were 13 other ranks evacuated and 1 missing.

Bn. H.Q. was located at MR 187118 (Wittestraat, Biervliet, Netherlands). At 1930 hrs, the C.O. and I.O. attended an "O" Gp at Brigade, and at 2000 hrs, the C.O. held his "O" Gp of all Company Commanders and Commanders of attached Troops.

"B" Coy were ordered to contact 7 RECCE (17th Duke of York's Royal Canadian Hussars, R.C.A.C.) on the left, while "C" Coy were to contact Highland Light Infantry of Canada, R.C.I.C. every hour to hour. Le Regiment De La Chaudiere, R.C.I.C. had sent a Company to relieve our "A" Coy.
