On 17 October 1945 WO A.C. Isaak-Derk was killed as a result of a vehicle accident. He accepted a lift from Wing Commander Matthews of 85 Group Royal Air Force who was driving the vehicle (R.A.F. Hillman 164041). While Wing Commander Matthews was overtaking at a point of the road near Brussels, he collided with an on-coming vehicle. Regimental Sergeant Major Isaak-Derk was seriously injured and died a few hours after being admitted to hospital.
