Pte Vincent J.H. died on the evening of 15 Jul 45 as the result of an accident when the 5 cwt Willys vehicle WD No M1165628, which he was driving left the road on the approach to the Balgerhoek bridge between Brugge and Eeklo, Belgium (within 1 km from Adegem Canadian War Cemetery) and with its occupants plunged into the canal below.
The vehicle carried a civilian Charles Caseart (age 17) of Gent, Belgium who also died as a result of the accident.
