On September 20, 1944 Lieutenant Donald Joseph Sherwoord went out to recover a damaged tank. His scout car backed over a mine and he was killed as a result.

2 Brothers in the Army. Captain George D. wounded in action and evacuated to England. He survived. Peter John served in Italy.
