Assigned to the regiment on July 2, 1940.
Floyd's father died in September 1922. His step-father was a WW1 veteran, Frances English MEHAN.
Floyd lied about his age, like so many other recruits, to join the Army. It is very likely that he used the date of birth from his older sister; June 17, 1921. The certificate of birth, province of Manitoba confirms the correct date of birth; July 24, 1922.
