Qualified and to be Lieutenant Infantry on March 20, 1943.

Qualified as Driver Class 3 (Wheeled) on September 27, 1943.

Assigned to the North Shore Regiment on September 18, 1944.

Killed in action when the Bren Carrier he was in with Driver Private G/22619 Frederick Merlin Theriault hit a mine.

The North Shore (New Brunswick) Regiment war diary reports on October 17, 1944:
Mollekot MR145067 (Crossroad Mollekotweg/ Vrijedijk, IJzendijke, Netherlands).
Weather: Scattered clouds and showers.

Battalion stayed in present positions, while Queen's Own Rifles of Canada and Le Regiment de la Chaudiere, completed their phases. 

At 2000 hrs, "A" Company sent a patrol to MR141088 (Crossing Westdijk/ Isabellaweg, IJzendijke, Netherlands, at monument for the Engineers). At 2145 hrs, patrol reached objective and came under small arms fire from MR128088 (Crossing Mollekotweg/ Watervlietseweg/ Oudemansdijk, IJzendijke, Netherlands).
