VINCENT, JAMES HENRY

Private James Henry Vincent (age 31) D/156056 (R.C.A.S.C.) was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He disembarked in France on August 5, 1944. 

Pte J.H. Vincent died on the evening of 15 Jul 45 as the result of an accident when the 5 cwt Willys vehicle WD No M1165628, which he was driving left the road on the approach to the Balgerhoek bridge between Brugge and Eeklo, Belgium (within 1 km from Adegem Canadian War Cemetery) and with its occupants plunged into the canal below.

Commonwealth War Graves Commission will replace the headstone of J.H. Vincent because of an incorrect regiment. According to his service records this soldier was on active service with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps at the time of his death.
