HMS Glengyle was a cargo ship that served in the Second World War as an infantry landing ship (large) of the British Royal Navy.
The ship took part during Operation Jubilee, better known as Dieppe Raid. To keep secret the presence of an infantry landing ship, Glengyle was disguised as a tanker. The ship transported The Essex Scottish Regiment of Canada to White Beach. The entire operation was a huge disaster.
HMS Glengyle went out of service in 1946.
