Lance Corporal Alex Cunningham McCartney (age 27) G/22663 (North Shore Regiment) was born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Canada. He disembarked in France on D-DAY June 6, 1944.

Researching his service records shows that his service number suppose to be G/22663 instead of C/22663. "G" service numbers are known for enlistments in New Brunswick, while "C" service numbers are known for Ontario.

Headstone Gunner J.A. Reid

REID, JAMES ALLAN (23 Field Regiment)

Gunner James Allan Reid (age 21) C/101820 (R.C.A.) was born in Farm Point, Quebec, Canada. He disembarked in France on July 23, 1944.

Researching his service records and the 23 Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery war diary concluded that Gunner Reid died on September 8, 1944 instead of September 7, 1944.

VINCENT, JAMES HENRY

Private James Henry Vincent (age 31) D/156056 (R.C.A.S.C.) was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He disembarked in France on August 5, 1944. 

Pte J.H. Vincent died on the evening of 15 Jul 45 as the result of an accident when the 5 cwt Willys vehicle WD No M1165628, which he was driving left the road on the approach to the Balgerhoek bridge between Brugge and Eeklo, Belgium (within 1 km from Adegem Canadian War Cemetery) and with its occupants plunged into the canal below.
