Adegem Canadian War Cemetery

Adoption

Many locals want to contribute their respect for the fallen soldiers in Adegem Canadian War Cemetery. This is possible by visiting the cemetery, lay flowers on the grave and adopting a soldier. It must be a great feeling for the families so far away from Adegem to know that their beloved one is still cared for.

A few things to point out:
- Commonwealth-adegem.com does NOT run the adoption program and we have no connection to the organisation who does.
- We try to include inform on each profile if the soldier has been adopted or not. This information comes from those who adopted the soldier(s) voluntarily.
- Commonwealth War Graves Commission will remain full maintenance of the cemetery and it's graves. It is NOT allowed to temper with the graves or add additional items other than a bouquet of flowers (without plastic sealing) or a small wooden cross/ small National flag.

Additional information from Official sources (for example: service records) and photographs would be much appreciated. We also welcome information and requests from relatives. Please use the contact page in order to share your information. Note that the Commonwealth Adegem archives already has all the Canadian service records in their database.
